Top Gainers (Weekly)

Top Gainers (Weekly) is the weekly sibling of Top Gainers. Where Top Gainers shows the single-day pop, this one shows sustained strength over a week. A stock does not accidentally stay up 20% for five sessions. That kind of move has weight behind it.

The Top Gainers Weekly scanner showing stocks up more than twenty percent over five trading sessions

What it is

A weekly momentum scanner. It ranks the universe by how much each stock is up over the trailing five trading sessions, roughly one trading week, and surfaces the strongest sustained movers.

The exact rule

A stock qualifies when all of these are true:

  • It is up at least 20% over the last 5 trading sessions.
  • Its 5-day average volume is at least 49,000 shares.
  • Its closing price is at least ₹20.
  • Its market cap is at least ₹1,000 crore.

The same liquidity and size gates as the daily version keep low quality names and bad data out.

The difference from the daily Top Gainers

A 5% single-day spike can be a fluke, a knee-jerk reaction, or a news pop that fades. A 20% weekly move is different. To gain a fifth of its value in a week, a stock needs repeated buying across several sessions. It is not one bar. It is a week of consistent demand.

That is why the weekly version is the stronger signal of the two. It filters out the one-day noise and keeps the sustained momentum. When a stock shows up here, the market (Read institutions) has been buying it all week, not just today.

Why it matters

Sustained weekly strength is usually the early sign of a real move. Institutional buyers accumulate over days, not in a single session. A stock that steadily climbs all week is often at the start of a trend, not the end.

Combine a weekly top gainer with a strong RS rating and a Stage 2 uptrend and you have a name being bought consistently, outperforming the market, and in the right part of its cycle.

Reading the move

When a stock appears on the weekly list, check the shape of the week:

  • Did it climb steadily, or did most of the gain come in one day? A steady climb is stronger than one spike.
  • Is it near a breakout level or already extended far above its range? Distance from the base tells you whether you are early or late.
  • What is the reason? A strong result or a guidance upgrade backing a 20% week is more durable than momentum with no story.

Where it fits

Top Gainers (Weekly) and Top Gainers cover the two ends of the momentum spectrum: the single session and the sustained week. Together with the stage and relative strength scanners, they make up the momentum arm of the platform.
