Intro to Scanners
Scanners turn the whole market into a shortlist. Instead of manually going through thousands of stocks, you pick a filter, and InvestorStack shows you which companies currently match it.
How to find and open scanners
It is simple to get to. On investorstack.in, log in, open the app, and look at the sidebar on the left. Click Scanners.
You will land on the scanners page. It shows every scanner we have as a card, split into two groups: Technical on top, Fundamental below. Each card has the scanner name and a one-line plain-English description of what it does. Click any card and you go into that scanner, where you see the stocks currently matching it.
That page is the map of everything this manual part covers. Every card links to its own explainer page.
Two families of scanners
InvestorStack has 19 scanners in two families: 16 technical and 3 fundamental. (We will be adding more in coming days.)
Technical scanners read price action. They answer "what is the market doing with this stock?" Breakouts, relative strength, moving averages, momentum, and the stage of the trend all live here.
Fundamental scanners read the company itself. They answer "what is this company growing into?" Guidance from earnings calls, which conference calls are worth reading this season, and where a business sits on the path to an earnings acceleration all live here. These are proprietary scanners using rich investorstack's company data.
Technical scans tell you when to act. Fundamental scans tell you what is worth acting on. Together they make a complete workflow.

Scanner summaries
Some scanners go further than a list. Four of them, Top Gainers, Top Gainers (Weekly), New Stage 2 Breakouts, and New 52-Week Highs, get a daily AI summary that makes sense of the list for you.
A scanner summary does three things:
Explains why each stock moved. For every stock on the list, it goes out and reads the news from the last day or two and tells you what actually moved it. A quarterly result, an order win, a real analyst upgrade, a bulk deal, management guidance. It does not guess, and it ignores the junk rating sites that do not move stocks.
Tells you which names are worth studying. It flags the stocks with a real structural growth story behind the move, not just a random pop. That saves you from digging into every mover and points you at the ones with actual substance.
Groups the list into themes. It looks at the whole list and tells you what the market is saying today. Are several companies in the same sector moving together? Is there a policy tailwind hitting a set of names? Is one group or supply chain all catching bids? You get a headline, a plain-English narrative of the day, and the stocks grouped by what connects them.
The summary is generated after market close each day at around 3:30 PM. If you subscribe to one of those four scanners, the summary is delivered to you on Telegram as a PDF, so you can read the day's story without opening the app.
Where to go next
If you are new, start with relative strength, because it is the building block behind many of the other scans. Then the stage framework, because it is the backbone of the trend scanners. Then pick one scanner you care about and read its chapter.
